Blog experiment – open comments

As an experiment, I’ve opened the blog up for comments. Now anyone can comment.

I will not avoid deleting comments I think are inappropriate, and may revoke this all with no notice. But hey, feel free to post away!

  1. It’s ALIIIVE! It’s ALIIIIIVVVE!!!!

Oh, probably not that kind of experiment…

How ’bout this, though? Every 108 minutes someone has to post “4 8 15 16 23 42″ or else… well, something happens.
    :-)

  2. Actor Jason Bateman undergoes throat surgery

He had a benign polyp removed. Production will be halted for a couple weeks. “Original episodes of the show will continue to air through November,” exec prod Mitch Hurwitz said.

The item came up as a headline on my ISP’s home page. Knowing you’re an Arrested Development fan, I thought I’d post it. Being lazy, I didn’t feel like scouring the past entries for the last one featuring AD as the main topic, so I’m just tossing it in here as an “open comment.”

  3. While doing my daily 2.7 mile bike ride around the block I came in after 10 minutes of WHYY’s (91 FM, Philly’s local NPR radio station) Fresh Air (for today, Nov 3) as host David Bianculi (sp?) was interviewing Arrested Development‘s creator and exec producer Mitch Hurwitz.

The very next segment was an interview with Henry Winkler about many things, not just “Arthur Fonzerelli” or Winkler’s recent work on AD.

Click the link provided to listen for yourself. Right now I’m trying to listen to the first 10 minutes of the Hurwitz interview, but it’s a little spotty due to my dialup connection.

  4. Fresh Air for Nov 3, 2005—with Mitch Hurwitz and Henry Winkler interviews.

Use the link provided here in this comment as it utilizes the archived show link format to go right to the correct day’s broadcast. The link in the comment above will just go to the current show, so as of tomorrow you’d have to track back in the archives to find the right one. Just thought I’d save folks the trouble by providing this more specific link.

  5. Threshold and Close To Home are swapping time slots later this month according to this SciFiWire report.

I was continuing to watch Threshold to see how it might develop and probably mainly because it was on at a very convenient time for me on a blah TV night. Now it’s very much less convenient being opposite Boston Legal, but I may still stick with Threshold through at least the end of the season or its cancellation, whichever comes first.

  6. It’s interesting to see them doing a full hour of Arrested Development this week, during sweeps. It’s never been a big ratings show, so it really speaks to the lack of depth of Fox successes. They are bringing back Kitchen Confidential next week – an already-axed show which they are dumping at least one episode of on the web, apparently.
