Carl Kolchak, we hardly new ye (and apparently hardly cared)

As Rich points out elsewhere, Night Stalker has falled unsurprisingly to the ax. A little more watchable TV gone, but not a must-watch; I doubt this short run will inspire people decades down the road the way thatthe original longer-but-still-short run did. So far, it looks like this season’s few new must-sees are actual successes.

  1. Looking at my local TV schedule online at TitanTV and they still have Night Stalker listed for this thursday even though the SciFiWire piece I found indicates that a 2-hour Primetime Live will be airing instead. I’m not surprised that TitanTV doesn’t list the change yet as the word of NS‘s cancellation only just came today. TitanTV will probably correct their listings by thursday.

However, I can’t help hoping that maybe somehow SciFiWire got it wrong and TitanTV has it right because the TitanTV NS synopsis reminds me that last week’s episode ended with “to be continued…”

If ABC wants to cancel the show, fine, but at least show the rest of the in-progress two-part story, guys—I mean, come on…

  2. It seems rather unlikely that they’ll run a cancellation-level show during sweeps… perhaps they’ll dump it on a Saturday afterward.

  3. SCI FI To Air Night Stalker

“SCI FI Channel will air repeats of ABC’s canceled supernatural drama Night Stalker—including three never-before-seen episodes—starting next summer, the network announced.”
