House's house

Just in case anyone thought I was off on some longhot bizarro theory when I posted that House was obviously supposed to be a medical version of Sherlock Holmes, I can point out something which probably had been shown previously, but I only noticed last night: that the address plaque outside of House’s house reads simply “221B” – well known as the address of the world’s most famous fictional detective. As such, they’re not even trying to be subtle about it.

  1. Upon further review… Great catch!

I went back and checked the tape and of course you’re right. I didn’t doubt that—I just wanted to see for myself since I knew it had to be right at the beginning. I wasn’t paying close attention when the episode came on and missed it. Thanks for pointing it out.

The TV.com House episode guide “trivia and quotes” section makes note of the fact too in a way that indicates that this is indeed the first time this fact has been revealed.
