As Gear Factor reports, some iPods recently shipped with a Windows Virus installed.
Apple’s comment? “As you might imagine, we are upset at Windows for not being more hardy against such viruses, and even more upset with ourselves for not catching it.”
In other words. Apple distributed a virus… and is using that as an excuse to bash their competition. It makes them look classless, and even creates an aura of a company that would choose to circulate a virus to make their competition look bad.
I’m a Mac user but… jeez, that’s shmucky.
I’m watching the Eagles/Buccaneers game on TV and one of those Mac/PC ads came on—you know, with the nerdy middle aged guy as “PC” and the cool hip younger guy as “Mac”…
Anyway, it just strikes me that this is pretty much Apple’s marketing strategy at the moment. Maybe they’re just keeping in step with the time of year and the prevalent mudslinging political ads. The Mac/PC ads annoy me, but the political ads make the Mac/PC ads look like a rigidly moderated formal intellectual debate.
