Bless the DVD packagers

I’m a Netflix user (and hey, if anyone wants a one month free sample of the service, drop me a response with your email and I’ll set it up.) I find it useful for watching movies, but more useful for watching TV shows. Thing is, when a new season of something popular first hits DVD, there are likely to be a line of people waiting to watch it, each disk in order. So there sometimes ends up being a big wait for disk 1.

The fine show My Name is Earl just had season 1 hit on DVD.  Now, I don’t need to see it on DVD, because I’ve watched all the episodes over the past month. Well, almost all. You see, for the DVD set they’ve produced a new, half-length Earl episode.

And they’ve put it on disk 4, rather than disk 1. So while all the new-to-Earl folks are waiting for the disk to be available, there are plenty of copies of disk 4 sitting in the Netflix warehouse. Mine arrives tomorrow.
