Ugly Betty

Ugly Betty, the tale of a plain young woman who finds herself suddenly the right-hand gal for the editor of a high-end fashion magazine is overly broad, divorced from reality, predictable, dependent on cheap stereotyping, and judging from the advertisements run during it, aimed at lonely ladies with laundry problems.

So why do I like it so?

Because its goofy heart is in the right place? Because the look of the hyperstylish offices and some of the cuter hypestylish women is interesting? Because in the end, I like cheering for Betty? Yeah, bits of all that, I think.
